The Streets Profits are back in action and better than ever on Monday Night Raw.
The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) are one of the most energetic tag teams in WWE today. In addition to being fan favorites, the duo are also former WWE Raw and Smackdown Tag Team Champions. Unfortunately, for the past couple of months, the Street Profits were momentarily on the shelf.
At a WWE live event on September 24, Montez sustained a foot injury during a match against Alpha Academy (Chad Gable and Otis). He appeared on the October 3 episode of Raw wearing a boot on his right foot as he accompanied Angelo during his match against Solo Sikoa. Tonight was Montez’ first match since September. It was against the same team he last faced with Dawkins, the Alpha Academy.
The Street Profits Make Their Triumphant Return
Tonight’s episode of Raw had the fortune of a very energetic crowd. They were ecstatic to see the Street Profits and gave the duo a lot of support during their bout.
One of the loudest reactions of the match came when Montez picked up Otis and delivered a body slam to the tree trunk of a man. This was enough to incapacitate Otis for the rest of the fight.
After delivering his signature Frog Splash to Chad Gable, Montez pinned the head of Alpha Academy and won the match. It was a satisfying conclusion to Montez’ return to Monday Night Raw.
Though the Usos have been incredibly dominant over the Raw and Smackdown tag divisions, commentary put over the fact that the Street Profits could be a real threat to their Undisputed Tag Team Championship reign. Given the scarcity of established, active tag teams, it’s likely that fans could be seeing the rematch between the Usos and the Street Profits sooner rather than later.
