DALY CITY, Calif. (KGO) — The Daly City and Colma BART stations have reopened after being evacuated earlier Friday due to a possible hazmat situation nearby, according to agency officials.
Sources tell the ABC7 News I-Team that two officers were transporting hazardous materials to storage from the blast in San Francisco’s Sunset District Thursday and smelled something. They pulled over and bailed out.
Police us that they sent in a robot to inspect the truck and believe that a canister fell and is leaking either butane or propane.
Just before 2 p.m., BART tweeted out that both stations have since reopened and crews are in the process of resuming normal service.
