Sen. Ben Sasse (R-NE) “made it official Monday, submitting a resignation letter that says he will leave office on Jan. 8,” the Nebraska Examiner reports.
“That would be only three days after Gov.-elect Jim Pillen (R) takes the oath of office. Pillen is widely expected to appoint current Gov. Pete Ricketts (R) to the post.”
