When Aaron Rodgers exited this past week’s Sunday Night Football game against the Philadelphia Eagles due to a couple of injuries, many rushed to assure that the quarterback had played his last snap with the Green Bay Packers as the franchise would turn to Jordan Love and hand him the keys to the team.
On his weekly appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show”, Aaron Rodgers expressed that he was out of Week 12’s game due to a rib injury that forced him to get some X-rays done mid game.
“I was trying to stretch some things out at halftime a little bit and realized it probably wasn’t some sort of muscle injury. And I just got hit again in the third quarter and was just having a hard time breathing”, he told the whole crew at the Youtube show.
After having further tests done after the game on Monday, Rodgers is now planing to play this weekend when his team faces the Chicago Bears.
“I got good news with the scans yesterday, so I plan on playing this week.”
Matt LaFleur, the Packers head coach, said on Monday that Aaron Rodgers is feeling better, but still insisted that the team will take it day to day with him.
Aaron Rodgers praised Jordan Love
Aaron Rodgers also talked about his replacement and apparent heir to the quarterback position with the Green Bay Packers, Jordan Love, who looked good when he entered the game and almost lead the team back against the #1 seed in the NFC.
Jordan Love completed six of his nine passes for 113 yards and a touchdown to rookie wide receiver Christian Watson.
“It was really nice to watch. I feel like an older brother watching him do well. I care about the kid a lot.”
