Linda Hogan is the ex-wife of WWE Hall of Famer The Immortal Hulk Hogan. She married Hogan back in 1983 and lived together with him for over 25 years before parting ways with him. She’s also known for her time in the Hogan Knows Best television series and for other controversies involving her dating life after divorcing Hulk Hogan.
The couple has been apart since 2009 and is seeing different people as of this date which makes one wonder what really happened between them to end a 25-year-long marriage. Let’s find out the answer to all those questions by taking a look at seven things fans should know about Linda Hogan.
7/7 How Did Their Relationship Begin?
While Hulk Hogan was competing all over the world fulfilling his busy schedule back in the 80s, he took some time for himself when he visited a restaurant.
It’s where he met his future wife, Linda, and the two came to know each other and took their relationship forward from there. Since Hogan had to continuously be on the road, he continued to be in a long-distance relationship with Linda and talked mostly over the telephone for over two years.
6/7 Married Hulk Hogan in 1983
The couple continued to have a long-distance relationship for over two years, and when it was time for them to take the relationship to the next level, Hulk Hogan popped the question to Linda, and they planned for their wedding to take place on December 18, 1983.
Since Hogan was already a famous wrestler at that point, many wrestling personalities attended the ceremony, and the list includes former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, Andre the Giant, Antonio Inoki, and many major players in the wrestling business back then. The ceremony took place as planned, and the couple exchanged their vows to take each other as their wedded spouse.
5/7 Their Children
The couple welcomed their first child in 1988, a daughter, who they named Brooke, and they welcomed their second child, a son born in 1990, who they named Nick.
Their daughter Brooke is also well known among wrestling fans as she was part of Hogan’s storylines during his time in Impact Wrestling and even started a romantic storyline with Bully Ray at that time. The entire family starred in the reality television series Hogan Knows Best which went on for four seasons between 2005 and 2007.
4/7 What Caused Their Divorce?
After being together for over 25 years, Linda and Hulk Hogan chose to go their separate ways and filed for divorce in November 2007, which was finalized on July 2009. The reason behind their divorce is Hogan reportedly having an affair with a friend of his daughter, Brooke Hogan. According to Hogan, Linda had filed for the divorce without his knowledge, and that he came to know about it at the same time as everyone else.
Brooke Hogan’s friend also later confirmed in 2008 that she was in a relationship with Hulk Hogan and that she apologized to Brooke for doing what she did.
3/7 She Took 70% Of Hulk Hogan’s Assets
The divorce proceedings took a long time to finalize as there was a lengthy legal battle between Linda and Hulk Hogan regarding their liquid assets. When the court finalized the divorce in July 2009, it ruled that Linda was entitled to get 70% of all the liquid assets. The total value of the assets reportedly came to $30 Million, and Linda walked away with a huge settlement.
She also reportedly got a 40% share in companies owned by Hogan and also got to keep several luxurious cars, including a Corvette. Along with that, Hogan also had to pay $3 Million in the property settlement.
2/7 Dated A 19-Year-Old While She Was 48
Following her divorce from Hulk Hogan, Linda tried to restart her life but landed in controversy after she dated a person around 30 years younger than her.
She reportedly met a 19-year-old person named Charlie Hill and started a relationship with him despite the huge age gap. She continued to date Hill while still living in the house she got as a settlement from Hulk Hogan, and they took it to the next level when Charlie Hill proposed to Linda on an episode of the reality television series Couple’s Therapy in 2012. However, their wedding didn’t go on as planned, as Linda ended her relationship with Charlie Hill before they could tie the knot.
1/7 She Is Banned From Attending AEW Shows
Linda Hogan found herself at the center of controversy once again in 2020 when she sent out a tweet on the US protests following the Presidential election. She reportedly blamed the African American community for the protests that were going on in the capital but deleted the tweet after a while. But she wasn’t quick enough as the tweet had reached a lot of people, and she started receiving severe backlash from everyone.
AEW President Tony Khan was also one of the persons who condemned Linda’s tweet and went on to tweet out that she will join her former husband in being banned from all All Elite Wrestling events in the future.
