After a great Survivor Series: WarGames PPV, some WWE storylines came to an end, but others are not quite over yet. This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw wasn’t spectacular, but it was solid overall, with good matches, a couple of top-notch segments and a hot crowd.
Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens had an emotional segment, Candice LeRae and Dakota Kai delivered a very good match, The Street Profits returned and there seems to be something dark around Alexa Bliss. Without further ado, here are 10 things fans need to know about this week’s WWE Raw.
10/10 Becky Lynch/Damage CTRL Feud Is Not Over
This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw began with a promo from Becky Lynch, recalling how she put her body on the line by throwing herself off the top of the cage to win the WarGames match for team babyface.
Then Bayley appeared to say that she was the one who really put her body on the line, having brutal matches in the last few months. Later Dakota Kai and IYO SKY showed up, and The Man had to fight all three of them. The brawl was pretty fun, as they used WWE shop products to attack each other.
9/10 The Judgment Day Defeated The OC
Rhea Ripley and “Michin” Mia Yim faced each other in a singles match. They did a good job overall, and it was evident that they can steal the show at any time. However, this time the match ended in no contest because Dominik Mysterio and AJ Styles started fighting in the ring. Then, The OC and The Judgment Day faced each other in a mixed tag team match.
It was a very entertaining battle from start to finish, with great in-ring action. “Michin” shined by hitting a bodyslam on Finn Balor, but right after Ripley hit a Riptide to secure the win for The Judgment Day.
8/10 “I Don’t Need You Anymore”
The Bloodline and Sami Zayn continue to star in the best segments in WWE. This Monday Sami Zayn cut a promo thanking Jimmy Uso for always trusting him and then told Jey that they’ve been through some tough times, but that moment at Survivor Series: WarGames when they embraced was Ucey.
Kevin Owens then came out to say that he doesn’t want to fight Sami, doesn’t want to team with him and just doesn’t want anything to do with him. Sami said he feels the same way and that he didn’t need Owens anymore since he had family now. KO said he understands why Sami did what he did, as he has stabbed him in the back several times as well. Owens at the end reminded Sami that he really isn’t the same blood as his new family and never will be. Jey Uso then said that if anyone messes with Zayn then they mess with “Main Event” Uso.
7/10 Matt Riddle & Elias Want Tag Team Gold
Matt Riddle and Elias made an excellent team last week when they defeated Alpha Academy. They showed a lot of chemistry, as if they had worked together for years. They both admitted that they make a good team and Riddle had the idea to go for Tag Team Gold and Elias showed interest. Right after that The Usos arrived to say that they would never hold the titles, and said that anytime, anywhere they would give them a shot.
6/10 The Street Profits Returned With A Win
Montez Ford suffered an injury that kept him, and his partner Angelo Dawkins, out of the ring for several weeks. The Street Profits returned this week and had a match against Alpha Academy. It was a good match, entertaining, but nothing memorable. Montez Ford performed a spectacular frog splash to score the victory, making it clear that he fully recovered.
5/10 “Everybody Wants To Be Austin Theory”
Austin Theory became United States Champion for the second time in his career after winning a Triple Threat match against Seth Rollins and Bobby Lashley at Survivor Series 2022. Theory cut a promo saying he’s not a kid, he’s not the future, he’s the now.
Theory said that everyone is jealous of him, that everyone wants to be him, as he is younger, stronger and more talented. Then Seth Rollins showed up and told him that Monday nights still belonged to him and said “congratulations, kid” which made Theory very angry, but he restrained himself.
4/10 Dexter Lumis Is Officially A WWE Superstar
The Miz tried once again to fake an injury and avoid his match against Dexter Lumis, but Adam Pearce forced him to compete. It was a decent match, with a couple of good spots, but it should have been much better considering all the weeks of buildup. In the end, Dexter Lumis defeated The Miz, got paid and signed his WWE contract, as expected.
After the match, Lumis gave away $100 bills to several kids, The A-Lister couldn’t stand it, attacked Lumis and tried to get his money back, but along came Johnny Gargano to save the day.
3/10 Candice LeRae Defeated Dakota Kai
The last time we saw Candice LeRae on television she was brutally attacked by Damage CTRL. However, LeRae came back for revenge and faced Dakota Kai in a singles match. Kai did a great selling from the beginning of the match, making it evident that she is still sore from the WarGames match. Even so, Dakota gave her best, but in the end she couldn’t beat the electric LeRae. It was an excellent match.
2/10 Bray Wyatt’s Logo Behind Alexa Bliss
Since the return of Bray Wyatt there is a lot of speculation about Alexa Bliss, fans talk about a heel turn or a character change. So that’s why it’s interesting what happened this Monday. While Bianca Belair and Asuka were expressing their emotions after winning the WarGames match, the Bray Wyatt’s logo appeared behind Alexa, and after that she was staring blankly, distracted, thinking about something.
1/10 Kevin Owens Defeated Jey Uso
The main event of this week’s Monday Night Raw featured Kevin Owens taking on Jey Uso. Just as you would expect from these two great performers, the match was very good, including the “this is awesome” chant. Uso dominated most of the match, but Owens showed his peculiar fighting spirit and persevered, until he was able to hit a Stunner for the win.
