Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide’s TripleMania event is shaping up to be an exciting event for both the AAA and WWE roster. This will be the first TripleMania event after WWE acquired the promotion. It was announced earlier this week that The Judgment Day will be traveling to Mexico City for a Mixed Trios match.
Who Are The Judgment Day’s Opponents?
Judgment Day’s Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, and Raquel Rodriguez are set to face NXT star Lola Vice and AAA stars Mr. Iguana and Niño Hamburguesa. The match will mark Balor, McDonagh, and Rodriguez’s AAA debuts. Judgment Day’s Dominik Mysterio is also going to be in action. He is part of the Four-way Match for the AAA Mega Championship, which includes the current champion El Hijo del Vikingo and WWE Superstars Dragon Lee and El Grande Americano.
While Balor, McDonagh, and Rodriguez are set to make their debuts, this isn’t Dominik’s first AAA event. He made his AAA debut last month on July 25, where he attacked both Dragon Lee and El Hijo del Vikingo. The attack would later get him to be part of the title match.
When The Event Is And Other Matches On The Card
Triplemania XXXIII is set for August 16 at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City. The show will be available to stream live on WWE’s official YouTube channel with both English and Spanish commentary. It was also announced this week that Natalya will get a chance at the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship. The current champion Flammer will defend her title not only against Natalya but also Faby Apache.
Other title matches include: AAA World Tag Team Champions and SmackDown stars Los Garza (Berto and Angel) versus Pagano and Psycho Clown in a Street Fight, and El Mesias defending the AAA Latin American Championship against El Hijo de Dr. Wanger Jr.
For those who aren’t aware, the yearly TripleMania event is the equivalent of WWE’s WrestleMania. The first one occurred on April 30, 1993, and its main event was a Retirement Match between Konnan and Cien Caras. This year, Konnan will be inducted into the Lucha Libre AAA Hall of Fame. Rey Mysterio will be inducting him. It’s worth mentioning that it was Konnan who inducted Rey into the 2023 WWE Hall of Fame.
