Pro wrestlers often transition into acting, and right now, Sony and Amazon are likely looking for a big muscular man to play Kratos in their God of War adaptation. Naturally, fans with a foot in both the wrestling and video game worlds have been pitching that a wrestler should be the one who gets the honor of playing Kratos in an entirely different medium what with some of them already boasting his physique.
Triple H As Kratos
As for who exactly fans think would be perfect for the job, top of the bill is Triple H. There are a number of side-by-side shots comparing The Game with the Norse God of War and, well, it’s easy to see the similarities. Not only because the two of them are both bold with big bushy beards, but also because they have very similar physiques too.
Another WWE name being put forward is Braun Strowman. As for why exactly The Monster Among Men has been offered up, see above. Beard, bald, beefy body. Based on look alone, even though Triple H has a face far closer to that of Kratos, Strowman has the edge when it comes to height. The God of War is a big guy, and probably a little taller than Triple H.
Triple H’s Acting Chops
If you’re comparing the two via pros and cons as you read this, time for another tick in the Triple H column, but only a little one. While Strowman has a little bit of acting under his belt outside of WWE, The Game has a lot more. The trouble is, The Cerebral Assassin hasn’t exactly blown people away in any blockbusters. There’s a reason he’s stuck to WWE business while the likes of The Rock and John Cena have effectively left wrestling behind and are killing it in Hollywood right now.
Speaking of The Rock, The People’s Champ’s name has naturally come up because again, he’s bald and muscular, but he’s also black. While Kratos appears white in the God of War games, the only reason for that is a curse that has stained his skin that color via the ashes of his deceased family members. Dark stuff, and a history whoever is cast for the character will need to pull from to play a convincing version of what is a very unique character.
