INDIANAPOLIS – A woman was injured a shooting on the east side of Indianapolis late Wednesday night.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were dispatched just after 11:20 p.m. to the 1700 block of North Ritter Avenue. Officers found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound.

The woman was taken to an area hospital. Police didn’t disclose the extent of her injuries, saying only that she was “awake and breathing.”
The circumstances surrounding the shooting are unclear. IMPD said the woman was “uncooperative” with the investigation.
