DURANGO, Colo. (KRQE) – The Durango Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened Tuesday morning at a pawn shop. Officers responded to KP Pawn and Sales after receiving a report of a menacing incident at the shop around 9:45 a.m.
As officers arrived on scene shots were fired from inside the business. Durango police say no law enforcement weapons were fired during the incident. Multiple law enforcement agencies helped in securing the scene and medical care was provided to the injured person. Police say one person suffered from at least one gunshot wound and was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police say there is no ongoing threat to the public. The investigation is active. Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact Durango Police.
