Wired executive editor Brian Barrett sent the following to the staff on Wednesday:
Hi all,
I’m thrilled to share that Miles Klee will be joining WIRED as a senior writer on the culture desk.
Some of you have worked with Miles before, and most of you have almost certainly seen his work, most recently at Rolling Stone and before that at the iconic MEL magazine. (He’s also written for The Washington Post, Vanity Fair, Slate, and Vulture, among many others.) Miles covers the weird, unexpected, and inexplicable corners of the internet, chronicling digital culture with sharp insights and in-depth reporting. (He’s also an author! Most recently of a fiction collection, Double Black Diamond, cowritten with his partner Mads Gobbo.)
What happens in online spaces has more bearing than ever on everyday life; it’s a top priority for WIRED to cover that dynamic in a smart, fast, impactful way. Miles does it better than anyone.
Miles is based in Los Angeles, and will be working closely with Manisha day to day and reporting to Michael Calore. He starts Monday. (Yes, this Monday!)
Brian
