Killings continue
The slaying of two content creators in front of the Bellagio fountains by a YouTuber with a grudge last month appears to have unfortunately been just the start of a stretch of multiple fatal shootings across Las Vegas in recent weeks.
The latest deadly incident took place Wednesday night in Downtown Las Vegas, according to information supplied by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

KTNV Las Vegas cited a text message from LVMPD Lieutenant Aaron Lee that revealed the shooting occurred shortly after 9pm on the 2300 block of Olive Street. An image shared by the news channel showed an LVMPD vehicle blocking a road near Pepe’s Tacos.
Lt. Lee said one victim was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Also on Wednesday, the North Las Vegas Police Department announced the arrest of a male teen in connection to a fatal shooting on June 8, a night of deadly gun crimes across the Las Vegas Valley.
Violent night
Since local influencer Sin City Manny fatally gunned down two victims on the Strip just before 11pm on June 8, the Vegas Valley has been rocked by deadly shootings.
June 8 was one of the deadliest, backed up Wednesday’s arrest of a 17-year-old male. The unnamed person had been on the run after fatally gunning down a teenager his same age on June 8 in North Las Vegas. Police took the teen to the North Las Vegas Community Correctional Center and charged him with “open murder with a deadly weapon.”
fired her gun into a group of people on The Strip
The LVMPD also this week revealed that they caught up with a woman who fired her gun into a group of people on the Strip on June 8 over a joke that “agitated” her. Secret White, 20, avoided police until she returned to Vegas on July 3 and was arrested. Metro has charged White with attempted murder for her actions that left one person with a gunshot wound.
Other recent shootings
In a Tuesday press release, the LVMPD announced the July 4 arrest of another runaway shooter, 39-year-old Calvin Beasley Jr. Metro charged Beasley with “open murder with a deadly weapon” after he allegedly shot Derek Siano, 27, over an argument. Siano died at the scene on June 18 in a block near Flamingo and Boulder Highway, while Beasley went on the run.
Summing up the mood in Sin City over the recent outbreak of gun violence was a local influencer giant. “Unacceptable” stated Las Vegas Locally on X after news emerged of an “intoxicated” man pulling a gun on a Dotty’s bartender after she refused to serve him a shot of alcohol last week.
While the electric-wheelchair-using suspect Derwin Harris, 65, fired a shot into the property after he was told to leave, nobody was injured. Harris faces four felony charges, including “assault with a deadly weapon and resisting a public officer with a firearm.”
