FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — It has been a warm summer weekend, but get ready for a dramatic pattern change starting Monday.
This week will feature unusually cool conditions with daily chances for rain. The winds are already out of the north, and the cooler/drier air is filtering in.
This past week Fayetteville hit 100 degrees twice and we do need the rain. The wildfire danger is on the increase and some of our counties have burn bans.
This time next week this map will look a lot different. Check out the extended forecast.
Rainfall totals over the next 7 days look very impressive. The Weather Prediction Center is forecasting an area of 4-7″+ over our area.
Flooding will be an issue. Scattered flash flooding is possible Monday, however I think the flood threat will get worse later in the week with more rain expected on top of what we see Monday.
