Police are investigating a Gaithersburg shooting after a woman and a toddler were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds on Friday night.
Just before 9 p.m., the Montgomery County Police Department got a call about gunshots in the 8300 block of McCullough Lane, police said in a press release.
When detectives arrived to investigate, they founds several pieces of evidence. Police did not specify what the evidence was or how many items they found in the press release.
While investigating, police learned that an adult woman — whose age was not specified — and a 3-year-old girl were both taken to the hospital.
Their wounds were not life threatening, police said.
It is not clear if the woman and the toddler are related to each other by blood or known to each other in some other way.
Police are still searching for suspects, but believe the shooting was an isolated incident.
