It is all good between Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff after controversial post-French Open final comments as the American confirmed on the camera that she has no hard feelings towards the Belarusian.
After the 21-year-old American mounted a big comeback in this year’s final at Roland Garros, the top-ranked female player claimed her 70 unforced errors were the main and only reason behind the loss. When asked about it in Paris, the reigning champion didn’t hide that she was caught off guard by those comments but refused to get into a war of words.
Since then, Sabalenka has twice publicly apologized. This week, the two met again at Wimbledon, where they are the two top-seeded players. And Tennis Channel’s camera caught the two together, which led to the two funnily addressing their recent situation.
Sabalenka: Are we still friends? Gauff: Yeah
“I wonder what you want us to chat about… Are we still friends?” Sabalenka asked, to which Gauff replied: “Yeah. We’re good. We’re good.” The world No. 1 then added: “So, you see? We’re all good guys chill out.”
Guys, they promise everything is good now 😂

A day after the final and catching some major criticism, the 27-year-old Belarusian apologized to the 21-year-old through a message posted on her Instagram Story. After arriving in Berlin for her first grass tournament, the three-time Grand Slam champion expanded on her apology.
“That was just completely unprofessional of me. I let my emotions get the better of me. I absolutely regret what I said back then. You know, we all make mistakes. I’m just a human being who’s still learning in life. I think we all have those days when we lose control,” Sabalenka said in Berlin last week.
