NEWARK, NJ — A “Shark Tank”-style competition series is filmed in Newark every Thursday — and a local entertainment company will pay you $40 to be part of its live studio audience.
“America’s Big Deal,” a competition series for entrepreneurs and small business owners, is taped at Newark Symphony Hall, officials said. The show airs on USA Network and is hosted by Access Hollywood’s Scott Evans.
“Entrepreneurs take the stage to pitch their unique product or service for the chance to strike a life-changing deal with a retail giant,” officials said in a news release.
The public has the chance to witness the action firsthand: New Jersey-based Gotham Casting is looking for live studio audience members for its tapings, every Thursday from Nov. 4 to Dec. 16.
Anyone ages 18 to 65 (or 16-17 years old, with a parent present) who has been vaccinated can reserve tickets to a future show. Attendees will receive $40 each, officials said.
Check-in begins at 7:30 p.m., and the show films from 8-10 p.m.
Attendees should dress in casual or business casual attire, with no white shirts, no visible logos and no hats.
Those interested can sign up to reserve tickets here. Gotham Casting will email a mobile ticket link to people confirmed to attend.
