(KRON) — Authorities are investigating the death of a person found on a pedestrian pathway in El Cerrito Thursday morning.
The El Cerrito police and fire departments responded at 9:54 a.m. to the Ohlone Greenway near Conlon Avenue on the report of an unresponsive person. Arriving paramedics pronounced the person deceased at the scene, ECPD said.
The person’s identity was not immediately released.
The cause of death is unknown, according to police. Officers spoke to witnesses who said they last saw the person alive around 7 a.m. earlier that morning.
El Cerrito PD said it is not currently looking for suspects in the case, though the investigation is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to contact ECPD at 510-237-3233.
