OCEANSIDE, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — Authorities confirmed one person has died after an early morning house fire in Oceanside on Monday.
The fire started just after 3:30 a.m. at a residence in a cul de sac located in the 2000 block of Wedgewood Drive.
Oceanside police said they have been called to the property several times over the past few days, many of which resulted in standoffs, but did not give further details regarding those calls.
Although one death has been confirmed, the exact number of occupants inside the home at the time of the fire and whether there were any other injuries is still unknown at this time.
On Monday, forensic specialists and a trauma crisis specialist were at the scene of the fire. Detectives from both the fire and police departments were seen collecting evidence.
The circumstances surrounding the fire is under investigation.
