CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD)—The Sumter County Coroner’s Office has released the names of two women found dead in a wooded area of Rembert.
Around 1 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 8, officials discovered the bodies of Christine Marie McAbee, 35, and Kristen Grissom, 38, both of Charleston, in a wooded area off Richbow Road, according to Coroner Robbie Baker.
Baker confirmed the deaths are being investigated as a homicide. Autopsies are scheduled for Tuesday at the (MUSC) Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office and Coroner’s Office are leading the investigation.
