NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Heat slacks off for the next few days and is replaced with cloudy skies and moments of heavy rain. We should highlight the fact that this will not be a widespread flooding issue today/tomorrow. However, a few, (2-4) inches of rain will be seen in a select spots due to heavy rain-making storms moving onshore from the tropical disturbance in the Gulf. This could lead to a few flash flood warning being issued. Especially, if the area is prone to flooding/ poor drainage.
No further development is likely out of this tropical disturbance. Our impacts simply include increased rain chances for the next 48 hours.

There is a marginal risk for flash flooding issued for the Louisiana, Mississippi, and most of the Texas coast today and tomorrow.

Saturday morning brings heavy rain on the coast for the morning. This batch of storms moves northward over the mid-morning hours and into the early afternoon. From New Orleans to Galliano – a band of thunderstorms could pose a threat for flash flooding on Saturday morning just before lunch time. After lunch the rain lifts over the lake in onto the North shore.

After this bout of rainy weather, the heat makes a comeback next week. Strong High pressure build in and we could potentially match or exceed our high temperatures we saw this past week. More heat alerts will likely be issued.
