Speaking at the Iowa rally, President Donald Trump said the recent U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear sites, followed by the passage of the megabill, has been the “best two weeks.”
“Has anybody ever had a better two weeks?” Trump asked the crowd.
Trump again emphasized the strikes led to “complete obliteration” of Iran’s nuclear facilities, dismissing questions about the effectiveness of the strikes.

The B-2 pilots who carried out the strikes are set to visit the White House on Friday for the July 4 holiday.
Trump also recounted conversations he said he had with Iran leading up to Iranian counterstrikes on a U.S. air base in Qatar.
“They called me to tell me they have to take a shot at us,” Trump said. “This was Iran. Very respectful. That means they respect us because we dropped 14 bombs. They said ‘We’d like to take 14 shots at USA.’ ‘Go ahead,’ I understand,’” Trump said before explaining the facility was emptied out ahead of the counter strike.
“They were a little nervous about doing it,” Trump said. “I want to tell you. Can you imagine they were nice enough — this is Iran — to call me and tell me.”
