TNA iMPACT Results
We get a recap of last week’s TNA iMPACT featuring Joe Hendry’s in-ring promo, Cedric Alexander’s arrival on the iMPACT Zone, and the Street Fight main event between Mike Santana and AJ Francis.
The IInspiration vs. Tessa Blanchard and Victoria Crawford
- The finish of the match saw The IInspiration plant Victoria Crawford with their finisher, The Idolizer, for the win.
Winners: The IInspiration
After the match, Tessa Blanchard gets into a physical altercation with Indi Hartwell outside the ring. As security tries to separate the former friends, Indi grabs a mic and challenges Tessa to a match at Slammiversary.
Grade: C+
A decent opening contest between The IInspiration and the team of Tessa Blanchard and Victoria Crawford. Props to Tessa for giving her 110% in the match. She is truly one of the best wrestlers in the world. The outcome was overshadowed by the ringside brawl between Blanchard and Hartwell. Let’s see if we get a stipulation for their match at TNA Slammiversary.
New matches added to TNA Slammiversary
TNA’s commentary team confirms two new matches for Slammiversary. Following their win tonight on TNA iMPACT, The IInspiration will challenge the Elegance Brand for the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship. Plus, Indi Hartwell will take on Tessa Blanchard at the pay-per-view event.
Steelz is out here with Order 4 (minus Mustafa Ali). She says she called Cedric Alexander to restore order to the group due to his close ties to Mustafa Ali. Steelz calls both men out the ring. Cedric is the first one to enter the squared circle. Mustafa Ali is next and he has his own entourage escorting him to the ring.
Steelz hands Ali the mic. Cedric calls out Ali for his behavior. He reminds Ali about their history from 205 Live. He says the carried the division. Cedric namedrops John Cena, saying the current Undisputed WWE Champion gave them a standing ovation after their match years ago. Ali says he doesn’t need Cedric’s “god da** help.” He accuses Cedric of taking away “my WrestleMania moment.” Ali then challenges Cedric to a match at Slammiversary.
Cedric accepts. Mustafa Ali resorts to a cheap shot but Cedric catches him and sends Ali out of the ring. Ali’s Secret Service jumps Alexander but Jason Hotch and John Skyler clear the ring. Cedric takes out the last standing member of the Secret Service with a lumbar check as an irate Ali watches from outside the ring.
Following their confrontation, TNA confirmed Cedric Alexander will face Mustafa Ali in singles action at Slammiversary 2025.
Masha Slamovich (c) vs. Killer Kelly – TNA Knockouts World Title Chain Match
The finish of the match saw Slamovich wrap Kelly’s neck in the chain, forcing the challenger to tap out.
Winner and still TNA KnockoutsWorld Champion: Masha Slamovich
After the match, NXT’s Fatal Influence comes down to the ring to attack Masha Slamovich. NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley, and Jazmyn Nyx gang up on the TNA Knockouts Champion. Xia Brookside and Léi Yǐng Lee rush to make the save. As Fatal Influence walks to the bac, Jacy Jayne proclaims she’s going to run TNA next.
Grade: B-
Strap matches are not my come of tea. That said, Masha and Kelly managed to deliver a solid Chain Match. There were times when their communication fell off but the pair maintained the match’s momentum from bell to bell. The post-match run-in by Fatal Influence seems to suggest we may be getting a Champion vs. Champion match at TNA Slammiversary.
Eric Young admonishes The Northern Armory
We see recap of Eric Young’s actions from last week’s TNA iMPACT. Young was removed from the ringside as a result of trying to put his hands on Matt Hardy during the Hardys versus Northern Armory tag team match. Backstage, Young confronts Icarus and Williams and tells them they’ll have to prove their worth once again.
Mike Santana talks about the upcoming TNA World Championship triple threat at Slammiversary. Santana thanks the fans for their support that prompted the TNA management to insert him in the title match between Trick Williams and Joe Hendry. Santana says he won’t be going empty handed to his daughter this time as he’ll be bringing the TNA World Title with him after Slammiversary.
Confirmed: Champion vs. Champion match at TNA Slammiversary
At TNA Slammiversary, TNA Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich will face either Jacy Jayne or Jordynne Grace in a “Title for Title” match. Jayne is set to defend her NXT Women’s Championship against Jordynne Grace at WWE Evolution 2.
Matt Cardona vs. Eddie Edwards
- The finish of the match saw Cardona get Edwards with a schoolboy pin for the win following an unintentional distraction by Brian Myers.
Winner: Matt Cardona
As Edwards and Myers argue outside the ring, the lights go out and we see NXT’s DarkState standing in the crowd. The four men immediately jump Matt Cardona inside the ring and hit him with their powerbomb finisher as the TNA commentary questions their intentions for showing up on the iMPACT Zone.
Grade: B+
The match was a C+ at best but the post-match appearance by DarkState elevated it to the B+ grading. TNA Slammiversary is shaping up to be TNA vs. NXT and this writer is all here for this exciting development.
Hometown Man unmasked
We get back from commercial and Sami Callihan is calling for medics as he holds what appears to be an unmasked Hometown Man. Callihan has a towel placed on Hometown Man to hide his face from the camera.
Leon Slater hype package
We get a beautiful Leon Slate hype package for his X Division Championship match against Moose at TNA Slammiversary. This video package was really well done and shows what Slater had to sacrifice to get to where he’s today. As much as this writer wants Moose to retain his title, I believe it’s time for TNA to make Slater the youngest X Division Champion.
Jake Something vs. Mance Warner
- The match was declared no contest after Steve Maclin attacked both Jake Something and Mance Warner.
After the match, security tried to separate all three men from causing full chaos at ringside. This seems just the right angle to set up a three-way for the International Championship at Slammiversary.
We get back from commercial and security is still trying to separate Maclin, Warner and Something backstage. Maclin asks Warner and Something if they want a shot at his title. He then announces to put his title on the line against both men.
Zachary Wentz vs. Nic Nemeth
- The finish of the match saw Nemeth plant Wentz with the Danger Zone for the win.
Winner: Nic Nemeth
Grade: B+
Match of the night for me. Time constraints definitely prevented both men from giving us a banger on weekly television. Nemeth never fails to impress in the ring. Wentz brought his usual athletic flair to the ring tonight.
Next week on TNA iMPACT
The following matches were advertised for next week:
- Steve Maclin (c) vs. Mance Warner vs. Jake Something – TNA International Title
- The Elegance Brand vs. Myla Grace and Harley Hudson
- Jacy Jayne and Fallon Henley vs. Masha Slamovich and Lei Ying Lee
- The Hardys and The Rascalz vs. The Nemeths and FIR$T CLA$$
The King’s Speech main event
Frankie Kazarian gets in the ring. Kaz hypes up the TNA Slammiversary triple threat main event which “unfortunately” he isn’t a part of. Kazarian says his lawyers are looking into why he wasn’t made part of the match. He then welcomes the first of his three guests for tonight starting with Joe Hendry.
Mike Santana is up next. Santana walks trough the crowd to the ring as commentary recaps his addition to the Slammiversary main event. Kaz mocks Santana for the “speedy entrance.” He then introduces TNA World Champion Trick Williams to the ring. Trick grabs the mic on his way to the turnbuckle.
Kaz is Trick’s mouthpiece before Williams mocks Hendry and Santana for their failure to beat him for the TNA World Championship. Kaz gives Joe the opportunity to talk but takes the mic back just as he is about to talk. He tries to do the same to Santana but Mike grabs the mic and tells Kaz he’ll drop him “right on your ass on your own show.”
Santana tells Joe he’s not here for any corny sings. He tells Trick he isn’t here for any rap songs. Santana vows to bring back the TNA World Championship to the company. Hendry says the fans still believe in him. Trick says both men have been telling lies. He says Santana failed to keep his promise to his daughter. Kaz says the only man that is worthy of being TNA Champion is Trick Williams.
Williams takes the opportunity ambush Hendry and Santana. Kaz takes a hold of Santana as Joe tries to fight back Williams but the champion knocks the champion down by hitting him with the title. The segment ends with Trick and Kazarian standing tall inside the ring.
Overall Grade: B-
Tonight’s show was more storyline focused that in-ring action. The highlights of the night were DarkState’s appearance and Zachary Wentz versus Nic Nemeth. TNA’s seems to have move past focusing on in-ring action but hey, if that’s what keeps them afloat and help maintain partnership with WWE, all power to them.
