On the same day Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani is making his return to the pitching mound, his former interpreter reported to federal prison.
ESPN reported that according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Ippei Mizuhara is in custody at Federal Correctional Institution Allenwood Low in Pennsylvania.

Mizuhara, 40, stole about $17 million from the two-way star to cover gambling debts.
He received a sentence of just under five years in federal prison, and that sentence was supposed to begin in March, though it was delayed until June for “reasons [that] remain under seal,” ESPN explained.
Mizuhara’s attorney declined comment to ESPN, but he previously told the sports journalism juggernaut that he expects his client to eventually be deported.
