Loudoun County Fire and Rescue (LCFR) is proud to announce the graduation of 13 fire and rescue personnel from the 9th Annual LCFR Officer Development School. These senior firefighters and technicians attended the comprehensive, three-week program at the Oliver Robert Dubé Fire & Rescue Training Academy in Leesburg, in preparation for their future position as an officer within LCFR.
Members of LCFR’s senior staff worked alongside seasoned company officers to design the program for newly promoted officers; the curriculum focused on both leadership and management. This intensive, hands-on, training program focused on developing all aspects of a company officer’s role through a combination of lectures and practical exercises. Graduates refined their ability to lead and manage their staff and learned effective methods to mentor, cultivate, and grow our department’s personnel. The program utilized various internal instructors, as well as presenters from outside agencies to deliver dynamic presentations and conduct realistic exercises.
A graduation ceremony on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, culminated the completion of the immersive training program. Chief of the Loudoun County Combined Fire and Rescue System, James Williams, praised the hard work and commitment of the graduates as they were presented with their certificates. Senior Deputy County Administrator Erin McLellan offered congratulations for achieving this career milestone and offered both her and County Administrator Tim Hemstreet’s support for the organization and these future leaders.
