News 40 Weather | Hot End to the Week Before A Stormy Weekend
BACK TO THE 90S…WITH A FEW STORMS ADDED IN
After a couple of days with hit-and-miss downpours, today was somewhat calmer with only an isolated storm here and there. And that’s how our week is going to end…most areas staying dry but a popcorn storm can’t be ruled out heading into Friday. The main concern for Friday will be the heat-we’ll see temperatures in the low 90s across the area and that sets us up for a hot weekend with afternoon highs rising into the low 90s Monday when a “cool” front will pass through…that very frontal boundary we’ve talked about all week! It’s finally going to sweep across the area and with it-showers and storms. As a matter of fact, storm chances will rise throughout the weekend and peak on Monday when the actual front passes through.
You may have noticed the word cool and not cold to describe the front…it will only knock daytime highs down into the upper 90s for a day or two and then…we’re right back up in the low 90s by next Tuesday. Along with the heat…daily chances of storms in the forecast.
