MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (WTNH) — One teenager suffered non-life threatening injuries, and another teenager is in custody after an alleged stabbing incident in Middletown on Thursday night.
According to the City of Middletown Police Department, officers were dispatched to Grand Street at approximately 8:44 p.m. for a report of a stabbing.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers located a 15-year-old boy who had allegedly been stabbed in the abdomen. He was transported to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford and is in stable condition.
Police said that during the investigation, officers determined the assault occurred in the vicinity of Grand Street and High Street. Officers located a 16-year-old male suspect, established probable cause, and took the juvenile into custody. He was charged with second-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace.
Police said this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety. The Middletown Police Major Investigations Unit is investigating the incident and is asking anyone with information to call 860-638-4148.
