ST. LOUIS – A teen was killed in a multi-vehicle crash in south St. Louis on Thursday.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD), officials were alerted to the crash just before 10:40 a.m. on westbound I-44 near Arsenal Street.
Investigators reported that before the crash, a Toyota Avalon was driving westbound at high speeds. Police say the driver of the Toyota, who was later identified as an 18-year-old male, lost control of the vehicle.
The car ended up rotating as it was changing lanes, ultimately T-boning a Ford F250.
SLMPD reported that the driver’s side of the Toyota was stuck under the rear of the Ford F250. And when arriving at the crash, officials said the 18-year-old was declared deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Ford F250 sustained no injuries, according to officials.
SLMPD says an investigation into the fatal crash is underway.
