Voting along party lines is simple. You simply look for the D, the R or the I by the person’s name, and then you check the box. You don’t have to think or do research into the candidates’ voting records or their positions on important city issues. My question is this: What if you discover that all these candidates actually belong to the same political party? What then?
Why is it so many doctors show no concern for their patients’ having pain? I watch my wife having trouble walking around with pain. I can hardly stand still for more than a minute without pain. It’s noticeable to me since my surgery. If I have a few minutes without pain, then my doctors just blow that off. What is the matter with them?
Good role model?
What a dumb question. What makes anyone a good role model? Your answer is there.
Council of old
Observing the bungling antics and misguided decisions of our current City Council makes me wish for leadership like some we had in the past. Former Mayor Fred Wilson had more common sense in his little finger than the entire current council combined. Leona Stoecker conducted council meetings with poise and efficiency and attended every city function during her tenure, representing us with dignity and grace. With an intelligent vote in November we might be able to get some of these much needed qualities back.
Wouldn’t it make better sense to let everyone running for election be elected? Then six months to a year later, have a vote on who stays and who goes.
This is regarding the “Mask mandate” in Wednesday’s TC Line. In case you haven’t heard, more than 711,000 people have died in the U.S. (of COVID-19) thus far. When that rate drops to zero, Boulder County should remove the mask mandate. Until then, please do your part and respect others by wearing a mask.
To the caller who wanted to know when the county was going to drop the mask mandate and what the criteria were: It’s no mystery. The criteria are right on the BoulderCounty.org website. The mask mandate is based on transmission levels. Right now we’re in a period of (a) high number of cases, and as soon as the cases drop to a moderate or low level for 21 consecutive days, then masks will no longer be required in indoor spaces.
‘Breaking Cat News’
I’m calling about the “Breaking Cat News.” I noticed in the Oct. 10 issue someone had put in the TC Line that they thought it was a dumb comic, but I wanted to say also that I really love “Breaking Cat News” and I hope you don’t take it out.
