NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Two men have been hospitalized following separate shootings which happened in New Orleans on the night of Friday, July 4.
According to the New Orleans Police Department, the first shooting happened around 11:02 p.m. somewhere on Magic Street in the Mid City neighborhood, with the exact location of the shooting reportedly being unknown.
Police say a man was shot in the body at least one time, and that he was brought to a local hospital by private conveyance.
The second shooting reportedly happened at the intersection of N Derbigny Street and Lizardi Street in the Lower Ninth Ward neighborhood, with initial report coming in at 11:59 p.m. and confirmation following at 12:23 a.m.
Police say a man was leaving a store when he was approached by two unknown male suspects, one of whom pulled a gun and shot the victim twice. EMS brought the victim to a local hospital for treatment.
No further information was provided in either investigation.
