ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A person is in custody after a 72-year-old was fatally shot in the Wellston neighborhood on Thursday.
According to the North County Police Cooperative (NCPC), officers were alerted to reports of gunfire in the 6100 block of Wagner Avenue just after 1:20 p.m.
NCPC said that when they arrived at the area, they located the victim—whose identity has not yet been released due to pending forensic identification—deceased at the scene.
Officials are also not releasing the alleged suspect’s identity, as charges have yet to be issued.
