Police in suburban Western Springs arrested a suspect in multiple home invasions who allegedly assaulted a resident in one of the incidents, authorities said.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday, the village’s police department said a suspect had been taken into custody following two home invasions in the Springdale area.
The first incident was reported to police at approximately 2:30 p.m. in the 5000 block of Harvey Avenue. A short time later, a second home invasion occurred nearby in the 200 block of Rugeley Road. In the later home invasion, the suspect assaulted a person living in the residence and stole a vehicle, according to authorities.
The suspect’s name hadn’t been released as of late Thursday afternoon.
The incidents remained under investigation by both Western Springs detectives and the Major Case Investigations Unit.
