NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Lower humidity will keep things a bit nicer during the evening and morning hours. Lows Tuesday will see upper 60s to the north but still mid 70s to south. Areas south of I-10 will struggle to get much of the dry air.
Dry conditions will continue across the region under northwesterly winds aloft. At the surface, light easterly to northeasterly breezes will persist. With this setup, temperatures will stay on the warm side, but slightly lower humidity levels should help keep the heat from becoming too oppressive. Most areas will stay rain-free, though a stray shower or storm can’t be ruled out south of I-10 along the Louisiana coast during the afternoon and evening hours.
The midweek pattern looks similar, with dry northwest flow aloft and high pressure building in from the north. A weak front will move through Wednesday, but moisture will be too limited to produce rain. Instead, drier air will settle in, keeping humidity low and bringing a brief break from the heat. Highs Wednesday will still be in the low to 90s but morning lows should be nicer.
