BCD Travel consultancy Advito has integrated its Gate4 emissions methodology into carbon data specialist Squake’s carbon management platform, the companies announced.
With the integration, Squake is able to display Gate4 data in participating online booking tools as well as use the methodology for carbon reduction strategies, offsetting projects and carbon tax calculations at the point of sale, according to Squake. Clients of Squake now have the option to choose Gate4 as a preferred methodology and access emissions reporting based on its data.
Advito launched its Gate4 methodology, which is certified from the International Standards Organization, to provider deeper carbon data across the air, hotel, rail and car rental categories, and it includes several components that are not a part of standard carbon reporting to calculate emissions. Partnering with Squake is a way of “democratizing access to emissions reporting based on Gate4 data, ensuring seamless consistency from the point of sale and carbon tax calculations to reporting,” Advito senior director of sustainable collaboration Julien Etchanchu said in a statement.
