SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – On Jan. 27, 2026, at 11:58 p.m., Springfield police officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 1900 block of N. Burton.
Officers located a man who had been shot. He was transported to the hospital where he died. At this time, the man has not been identified.
Detectives have identified a suspect, but the suspect is not in custody.
Detectives continue to investigate and ask anyone who has information about this incident to contact the Springfield Police Department at 417-864-1810 or make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers at 417-869- TIPS (8477).
This is Springfield’s 3rd homicide investigation in 2026.
