A 30-year-old suburban Justice man was arrested for the fatal shooting of his father in nearby Forest View, authorities said Friday.
Hassan Alwan was charged with first-degree murder in the death of his father, Amin Alwan, 58, of Burbank, Forest View police said in a news release.
The shooting occurred at around 5:37 p.m. on Thursday, when Forest View police responded to a call of shots fired with a man down near Synergy Logistics, 5240 W. 47th St. When officers arrived, they found Amin Alwan unresponsive and bleeding from the face after apparently being shot.
Officers immediately began CPR, but the 58-year-old died at the scene. Through an investigation, Forest View police and the WESTAF Major Crimes Task Force identified Hassan Alwan as a suspect. He was later taken into custody.
A pre-trial detention hearing is set to take place.
