There are plenty of new faces in the Premier League this season, and we’ve profiled six stars we can’t wait to see debut on the opening weekend.
Viktor Gyokeres – Arsenal
Viktor Gyokeres emerged as one of Europe’s most coveted goalscorers across the last two seasons, after plundering 97 goals in 102 appearances for Sporting Lisbon. The Swedish striker has embarked on a fascinating career path; failing to make the grade at Brighton, before developing in the Football League and, lastly, exploding in Portugal.
The perfect connection 😍

Gyokeres will be desperate to prove he can score prolifically in the Premier League, with Arsenal recruiting the 27-year-old to solve their number nine issues. Can he fire last season’s runners-up to the title? Time will tell.
Estevao Willian – Chelsea
There are some in South American circles who believe Estevao Willian is the continent’s most exciting talent since Neymar. That’s a big billing, but the teenager has certainly shown his rich potential. The 18-year-old was named as the Best Player in the Campeonato Brasileiro in 2024 and shone at the Club World Cup for Palmeiras this summer.
He’s already caught the eye in pre-season as he looks to earn a spot in Enzo Maresca’s side.
“It feels very rewarding to represent Chelsea, one of the biggest clubs in the world. I hope to help the team in the best way possible. I can’t wait”, he said earlier this month.
Florian Wirtz – Liverpool
Premier League clubs have more often created than signed superstars, but Liverpool’s acquisition of Florian Wirtz fits into the latter category.
Voted as the Bundesliga’s Best Player by his fellow players in each of the last two seasons, the 22-year-old has decided to leave Leverkusen for a new challenge. A British record £116m fee has taken Wirtz to Liverpool, where he links up with the Premier League champions. A fabulous footballer to watch, he could star this season.
Rayan Cherki – Manchester City
Speaking of entertainers…
Manchester City’s deal for Rayan Cherki might just be one of the best value deals of the window. The Frenchman was snapped up from cash-strapped Lyon for just £30.5m after a season that saw Cherki lead Ligue 1 and the Europa League for assists. His ability to create chances with off-the-cuff quality will appeal to the Etihad.
Benjamin Sesko – Manchester United
Manchester United completed their frontline rebuild with the signing of Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig. The Slovenian striker has joined from RB Leipzig for a fee that could rise to £74m.
Flanked by fellow recruits Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, Sesko will boost a Manchester United side that badly struggled for goals last season. The 22-year-old combines elite athleticism with thunderous shooting off either foot.

Dan Ndoye – Nottingham Forest
After Anthony Elanga’s move to Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest reinvested their windfall in Dan Ndoye. The winger was expected to move to Napoli earlier in the window but has instead pitched up at the City Ground for a £34m fee.
Ndoye was the most fouled player in Serie A last season and ranked among the league’s top players for progressive carries (4th) and carries into the penalty area (5th). His willingness to take on defenders will be fun to watch.
