As expected, the 11 a.m. advisory has updated to show that Tropical Storm Chantal has weakened into a Tropical Depression.
Max sustained winds have decreased to 35 mph, with higher gusts.
It’ll continue to weaken over the next 24 hours.
All tropical storm warnings have been discontinued.
Heavy rainfall is still expected through the Carolinas: 2-4” additional accumulation expected with totals up to 6” possible.
Isolated tornadoes within the outer bands moving onshore can’t be ruled out today.
Dangerous surf and rip currents continue along the Carolina coastlines.
