A third girl killed when a barge struck a sailboat carrying campers in Biscayne Bay near Miami last week died from an accidental drowning, the medical examiner’s office said Wednesday.
The cause and manner of death of 10-year-old Arielle Buchman was determined to be accidental drowning, the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner’s Office said.
The two other girls killed in the incident, 7-year-old Mila Yankelevich and 13-year-old Erin Ko, also died from accidental drowning, the medical examiner said last week.

The three girls were among a group of five girls who were with their 19-year-old instructor when their sailboat was struck near Hibiscus Island on July 28.
Surveillance video showed the barge slamming into the sailboat on the water.
The girls were in their last week of a sailing camp for children aged 7 to 15, according to the Miami Yacht Club.

Yankelevich and Ko were killed the day of the crash, and Buchman died after spending two days in critical condition.
Another girl, 7-year-old Calena Areyan Gruber, was hospitalized and later released, her family said.

The 19-year-old and a 12-year-old girl were rescued but not hospitalized.
Coast Guard officials said they’re investigating the cause of the crash.
