NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — On July 16, 2020, Dereial Manning was visiting a friend in New Orleans East when there was a knock at the door. When Manning opened it, she was shot multiple times and died at the scene. Five years to the day later, the murder remains unsolved. The case is the latest one to roll on the Wheel of Justice.
According to court documents, the crime happened around 3:30 a.m. at an apartment in the 12100 block of the I-10 Service Road. Also, there were at least two people waiting for Manning when she answered the door and she had her 2-year-old son with her at the time.
CrimeStoppers offered a $2,500 reward in the case. It expired in May of this year. But WGNO News reached out to CrimeStoppers, and the organization announced it would continue to honor the reward. Although no new expiration date was announced.
If you can help catch the killers, call CrimeStoppers at 504-822-1111. You don’t have to reveal your name or testify in court to be eligible to receive the cash reward.
So far, more than 475 people have been booked after their cases rolled on the Wheel of Justice.
