NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Most of the area will stay quiet tonight after the isolated storms around the area fade out. We will continue to be in the easterly flow around the ridge to our north. It looks like a couple storm clusters will be moving around that ridge over tonight and Thursday. This should give us a more widespread rain chance Thursday as these move in. It doesn’t necessarily look like they hold together all the way, but we will probably see these at least trigger more storms.
Look for highs to still top out around 90.
Rain chances stay a bit higher through the weekend after Friday. Friday the coverage again looks isolated around 40% but climbs to 50-60% Saturday and Sunday. At this point it looks like a relatively unsettled pattern continues for early next week with more widespread rain chances. Locally heavy downpours will be the main threats with strong wind gust potential in any of the stronger cells
