QT Marshall looks back on facing CM Punk on AEW Dynamite in 2021.
Speaking with Alistair McGeorge of Metro, QT Marshall looked back on facing CM Punk on AEW Dynamite.
“He just wanted to work a bad guy in his hometown,” Marshall said. “We really didn’t communicate too much before the match, and we just went out there, and we just had a good old wrestling match.’Marshall reflected on their match on Dynamite three years ago in Punk’s hometown of Chicago.
Marshall noted that the match was “good business”, and he went on to note that Punk seemingly had a lot of trust issues. However, Marshall said that he knew what the goal was for the match, and he had fun.
“I think coming into this company, and I think it showed with how he left the company as well, he probably had a lot of trust issues with a lot of people,” Marshall said.”Him and I were never friends, but at the same time, I knew what my goal was and what his goal was for that night, and I just had a great time with it.”
Marshall also stated that he had no “ill will” towards CM Punk, who was terminated by AEW in September 2023. Punk then returned to WWE.
