Going to Wrigley Field and can’t figure out if you want an Italian beef sandwich or a pizza? You’re in luck.
That’s because the Cubs have announced a partnership between Home Run Inn and Vienna Beef to create a “Chi-Town Pizza,” which features elements of both iconic Chicago dishes.
The pizza features freshly sliced mozzarella and tomato sauce, along with Vienna Beef’s thin-sliced roast beef and tangy homemade giardiniera, according to a press release.
“Home Run Inn Pizza topped with the savory spices of Vienna’s Italian Beef, the Official Italian Beef of the Chicago Cubs, and giardiniera are a memorable combo not to be missed,” said Gina Bolger, Chief Marketing Officer and fourth-generation family member of Home Run Inn. “It’s an iconic blend of two great Chicago food traditions.”
If you want to try the “Chi-Town Pizza,” you’ll only have a limited time to do so. That’s because the offering will only be at Wrigley concession stands during the team’s upcoming homestand, which begins with a three-game series against the Cleveland Guardians on Tuesday night.
The menu item is also set to be available for the weekend series against the St. Louis Cardinals.
For fans interested in attending games, the team will be giving away Bluetooth speakers in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the first radio broadcast of a Cubs game on Thursday night. On Sunday, the first 10,000 fans age 21 and older will receive a Cubs Hawaiian shirt, according to the team’s website.
