DENVER (KDVR) — The Parker Police Department is searching for answers after two dogs were abandoned near Pioneer Elementary on Wednesday.
The dogs appear to be labradors, with police saying one is an adult female and the other a six-month-old puppy. Neither is microchipped and both show signs of neglect, according to the police department.
The department said that they’ve learned that the dogs were dumped off of Riva Ridge, which is near Pioneer Elementary’s parking lot, at about 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 6.
“All we have at this time is that a white pick-up with a topper dropped these two dogs off and then drove away,” the police department said.
The agency said the driver was described as a white, middle-aged man of average build.
The department is hoping someone has information about who may have been in the area or has dash or doorbell camera footage of the incident.
The dogs were taken to a shelter.
