(KRON) — Police in Pleasanton arrested a man on Tuesday who told them he had killed his 71-year-old mother. According to the Pleasanton Police Department, Malcolm Tilley, a Pleasanton resident, walked into the police station’s lobby at 4:45 p.m.
Tilley, 31, told police he’d killed his mother following a dispute. Officers were dispatched to his residence on the 4000 block of Alvarado Street where they found a deceased individual with multiple knife wounds.
Several kitchen knives were found near the victim, police said.
Tilley is currently being held in Santa Rita Jail for homicide. Police say there is no threat to the community at the time and department records indicate no prior incidents at the residence.
The investigation, according to police, is ongoing.
