While the people in front of the cameras are the ones who matter the most, there are also people who are going to help put everything together behind the scenes. Now one of the more controversial ones has a bit better of an explanation.

Over the weekend, WWE presented Survivor Series, which included a SmackDown Women’s Title match that saw Ronda Rousey successfully defending against Shotzi. The match was co-produced by Jason Jordan and the returning Brian Kendrick, the latter of whom is not a full time WWE producer.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Rousey requested that Kendrick, one of her original trainers, be brought in for the show. While this was considered a tryout, it was more catering to Rousey’s request. The tryout was seen as controversial as Kendrick was pulled from an AEW appearance earlier this year after a string of conspiracy theory based statements he made in the past resurfaced.
