DENVER (KDVR) — More sunny and hot conditions are in Denver’s weather forecast for the rest of the workweek.
Weather tonight: Mainly clear
Tuesday night will stay mainly clear and dry. Low temperatures will fall to the lower 60s, which is just a couple of degrees above normal for this time of year.
Weather tomorrow: Sunny, hot
Wednesday will be mainly sunny, hazy and hot. High temperatures will climb to the upper 90s, which is nearly 10 degrees above normal for this time of year, but still shy of the daily record, which is 100 degrees set in 1980.
Looking ahead: Possible record heat, weekend relief
A Pinpoint Weather Alert Day has been issued for Thursday as high temperatures climb toward record levels.
A heat advisory will also be in effect across the urban corridor, including the Denver metro, Boulder and Fort Collins, for afternoon highs approaching 100 degrees.
In Denver, the record high temperature for the day is 99 degrees, set in 1980.
Sunny and hot conditions continue Friday with a high in the upper 90s. Then, relief is on the way thanks to a cold front this weekend. Saturday and Sunday, highs will only reach the mid to upper 80s thanks to the return of a few afternoon showers and storms.
