Mike Vrabel and the Patriots have to cut their roster down to 53 players by 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
FOXBOROUGH — Roster cutdown day is finally upon us.
Mike Vrabel and the Patriots have until 4 p.m. on Tuesday to trim New England’s training-camp roster down to 53 players.
It’s been a competitive training camp and preseason slate in Foxborough, with several players raising their stock and going from unheralded offseason pickups to key cogs in short order.
However, there are also multiple players — especially established veterans in Foxborough — who could be on their way out.
With that 4 p.m. deadline looming on Tuesday, follow along as we keep you updated on every roster cut that goes down in Foxborough.

10:30 p.m.: The Patriots held their final training-camp practice on Monday afternoon, with Vrabel and his staff getting one final opportunity to assess this 76-man roster before more cuts commence.
“There’s a lot of decisions that are still to be made, but I don’t know, the evaluation process has been a large one,” Vrabel said. “A lot of these players, whether we want to work with them moving forward, that’s kind of the case here.
“Those are the decisions when you get down to it as you make a roster, and then there’s obviously the practice squad players. So, a lot of these players that you see today, however things go, hopefully will still be back here.”
10:15 p.m. The Patriots made another move on Sunday to cut down their roster, as the team waived guard Layden Robinson with an injury designation.
Robinson — a fourth round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft — found himself falling behind on the depth chart as training camp carried on. With Robinson waived, New England now has 76 players on the active roster.
10:00 p.m.: The Patriots have already made multiple moves to cut down their roster on Friday — with Vrabel announcing 14 total cuts after New England’s preseason loss to the Giants.
Jaheim Bell and Cole Fotheringham, defensive tackles Philip Blidi and Kyle Peko, wide receiver Phil Lutz, linebackers R.J. Moten and Monty Rice, guards Tyrese Robinson and Sidy Sow, cornerbacks Isaiah Bolden and Jordan Polk, running backs Micah Bernard and Shane Watts, and quarterback Ben Wooldridge were all released in the first round of cuts.
“Tough day,” Vrabel said Friday. “We try to have a personal side to this and a professional side. This is clearly the professional side of what we have to do.”
