Authorities Thursday publicly identified a septuagenarian and a teenage boy who lost their lives over the last 10 days in San Diego area traffic accidents.
Shortly before 9 a.m. Sunday, 79-year-old Chong Kim of Valley Center was fatally injured when he got into a collision while driving an SUV on southbound Interstate 15 north of Camino Del Norte in Rancho Penasquitos, according to the county Medical Examiner’s Office.
Kim died at the scene of the accident.
Spring Valley resident Abdullah Al Husain, 17, was killed about 7:30 p.m. July 28, when the sedan he was driving veered off the roadway in the 1600 block of East Palomar Street in Chula Vista and struck a palm tree, the county agency reported.
He succumbed to his injuries before paramedics could take him to a hospital.
