Tony Khan loves talking about AEW’s success—but this time, the numbers don’t exactly back him up. During his appearance on The Rich Eisen Show, the AEW President proudly claimed that Dynamite’s audience has been climbing thanks to the company’s Max streaming deal. But a closer look at the actual TV ratings shows… not so much.
Khan was hyping AEW’s recent milestones, including Dynamite’s 300th episode and Collision’s 100th, when he dropped the bold claim.
“And for AEW, in Q4, we had a great audience. Uh, and we signed a new deal, an extension to stay at TBS and TNT, but also to Simulcast on Max. So, in Q1, not only did we become one of the top streaming shows on Max, but our audience on TBS actually got bigger, the overall audience and the demo share.”
Eisen chimed in, agreeing that streaming helps boost TV numbers, not hurt them. But when Ringside News dug into the verified data from sources like Programming Insider, it told a very different story. Here’s what the actual cable viewership numbers look like for AEW Dynamite so far in 2025:
Q1 2025 (Jan–Mar)
Average Viewers: ~622,000
Range: 563,000 – 679,000
Q2 2025 (Apr–Jun)
Average Viewers: ~618,000
Range: 521,000 – 736,000
So while Q2 saw a big spike for special episodes like Grand Slam Mexico (736K viewers), the overall average viewership actually dropped by around 4,000 viewers compared to Q1. Not exactly the “growth” Khan was claiming on national radio.
It gets worse when you consider Q2 also included Dynamite’s lowest weekly number of the year—just 521,000 viewers on April 23. In short, AEW’s TV audience isn’t tanking—but it sure isn’t surging either, no matter how much Khan hypes the Max partnership.
