SCHWENKSVILLE, PA—This July, Pennypacker Mills hosts two family-friendly events filled with history, music, and old-fashioned fun.
Porch Performance: Music of the Civil War with Charlie Zahm
Saturday, July 19 at 4:00 p.m.
Journey in song and story through the era of the Civil War with local musician, Charlie Zahm. Zahm calls on his robust baritone, mastery of guitar (and other instruments), and a seasoned approach to the art of entertaining to provide a program enjoyed by all. Joining Zahm will be Tad Marks, a master fiddler who adds another dimension to the performance.
All ages are welcome to attend this free, outdoor performance. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on. The mansion is open for tours prior to the performance, with the last tour beginning at 3:00 p.m. This event is FREE with a suggested donation of $2 per person. This event is sponsored by Friends of Pennypacker Mills.
Victorian Game Day
Saturday, July 26 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Drop by for a hands-on Victorian Game Day. All are welcome to enjoy toys and games that were popular in the Victorian Era. Try your hand at croquet, graces, ring toss, cup and ball, Jacob’s Ladder, and much more! Test out optical illusion toys like flip books and stereoscopes.
See the Athletic Base Ball Club of Philadelphia face off against the Brandywine Base Ball Club of West Chester. Watch a game of baseball using 1860s rules, uniforms, and equipment. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on to enjoy the game.

Located at 5 Haldeman Road in Schwenksville, PA, Pennypacker Mills is an immersive Colonial revival mansion that offers visitors a unique glimpse into the past. Pennypacker Mills is operated by Montgomery County’s Division of Parks, Trails & Historic Sites. The site is open year-round for free guided tours, seasonal events, craft workshops, special presentations, education programs, and changing exhibits.
